SANDPOINT TITLE GRANT PROGRAM
AND APPLICATION
Commitment to education is the cornerstone of Sandpoint Title's Education Grant Program. It has been our pleasure to give back to the community by providing funding to assist several community events, organizations and school sports programs each year, which improve the quality of education in Sandpoint. In addition, we offer four educational grants yearly, which are available to all schools in Bonner County. Your school may be eligible to request funding from our Education Grant Committee.
Sandpoint Title Insurance, Inc. believes that investment in the education of children in this community is an investment in the future of Bonner County. In keeping with this belief, Sandpoint Title Insurance initiated an Education Grant Fund in 2004 to benefit the students of Bonner County .
Each quarter of the school year, Sandpoint Title accepts and reviews grant requests from educators across the county and awards up to $1,000.00 total per school quarter. The Education Grant Committee consists of five members of the staff. Each of these committee members shares management's commitment to this worthwhile project, and are dedicated to funding as many requests as meet the grant criteria.
To date, the Education Grant Committee of Sandpoint Title Insurance has funded over $16,000.00 to various schools in Bonner County. Some of the recent projects funded include a Before School Math Club at Farmin/Stidwell Elementary School, requested and administered by Naticia Litven and an All School Math/Science Lab at Sandpoint Middle School, requested by Marcea Marine. Past recipients include The Kokanee Salmon
Egg Project at Sagle Elementary School, which received funding for two years. Another two-year recipients
were the Clark Fork Jr./Sr. High School Science Fair. Priest River Elementary
School has received funding for dry eraser boards for first graders to help with spelling words. Sandpoint Middle School has been awarded grants to help purchase their Delta Science Modules. The West Bonner County School District was the beneficiary of a “Scan n' Talk” learning tool. Sandpoint High School has received funding for a reading project to benefit freshman and seniors and shop class has also received funds for a building project. Kootenai Elementary School was able to purchase books for their library because this grant was available.
Any person engaged in an effort to further the education of the young people of our county, whether they are teachers, class aids, principals or librarians are encouraged to contact STI regarding their grants. The process is a simple one and applications can be obtained by phoning Sandpoint Title Insurance at 263-2222, on the website at www.sandpointtitle.com. Or you can drop by either one of the downtown offices located at 120 South Second Avenue, or 110 Main Street
in Sandpoint, or in Priest River at 310 West Albeni Highway, Suite A.
Here are the Criteria :
- Must benefit education or educational projects in grades one through twelve;
- Must benefit a number of students;
- Applicants may apply as often as they wish;
- Geographic location will include all of Bonner County .
Applications will not be considered without the following attachments:
- Budget for your project;
- Funding sources or additional donors anticipated for your project.
Grant Application Schedule: Sandpoint Title must receive all applications for Education Grants no later than two weeks prior to the end of each school quarter. Grant requests will not be held over for re-consideration at a later date.
