I started my escrow career in 1975 in southern California, where I handled all types of closings, specializing in 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges and large residential projects.
I moved to Sandpoint in 1983 with my husband, Phil, and spent
six years building condominiums at Schweitzer, along with
two other partners. In 1989, I moved with my husband and daughter to Anacortes, Washington, where I opened and managed a title company branch there for the next 18 years.
The experience was invaluable, handling every type of transaction, including boat slip sales, all types of commercial closings, leased land sales, exchanges, and large development projects. I also managed the owner's Tax Deferred Exchange facilitation corporation, training the staff and coordinating the exchanges for taxpayers.
We kept coming back to Sandpoint
two to three times a year to spend time with our friends, always intending to move back here! In 2004, after interviewing with Tom Williams to work at Sandpoint Title, I knew it was time to come back!
Being able to work for STI in a field that I truly enjoy, and ski in the winter and boat in the summer is the best of all worlds! |
